Hemrat and Ariz

this is a really long incompleted story with quiet a few errors, but it still is a nice read

Hemrat and Ariz

Chapter one

The union

He soared through the winds. He had to get away; murder was never accepted in this part of the world though it was considered normal in theirs. Murder was considered an odious crime in the Ended-Earth but not in Evil-Earth. He looked behind him, his pursuers were still there.

Below on the forest flow Hemrat was plucking fruits for his grandmother when he heard a thunderous roar above in the skies. Trepidation nervousness spread over his body as he caught a glimpse of a magnificent green beast crashing down into the forest.

This beast was the Dragon Ariz, dragons haven’t been seen around Hemrat’s home for over a millennium, people thought them a myth.

Hemrat heard a gnarl behind him. The boy spun around and to his horror he saw a Black Walverine. The walverine was a black werewolf like creature except it was fiercer and is always present meaning it doesn’t only come out at full moon.

The brute was double the boy’s height; it glared at the boy with its red eyes.

The green dragon lay motionless on the forest floor; thoughts swirled through his mind, how long would it take for the Black Walverines to find him? What did they want from him? Why was he being chased by them? Ire started to surge through the young dragon’s body, giving him refurnished energy. The dragon slowly but steadily ascended to his feet. He smelt the Walverines around him searching for his green hide. An odd scent pierced the dragon’s senses; the dragon being young did not know the scent of humans. Ariz realised whatever it was, must be in trouble if he could also smell the walverines. Ariz lifted to his wings and saw a small creature wrestling with a Black Walverine. Ariz swooped down and caught the Walverine off guard knocking him into the forest river. The heinous creature gave one more yelp before it was drowned.

Hemrat, with blood dripping down an injury he had suffered on his left arm, stared at the dragon with awe silently praising him with many accolades, realising a creature of legend was right in front of him. Ariz stared at the human in wonder thinking what this creature is called. “What is your name?” Ariz enquired staring at the boy.

“My name is Hemrat of the Eastern Coldar”, replied the boy confidently, Ariz looked at the boys eyes and saw a fiery blaze in them. ‘This boy should be well respected’ he thought to himself.

“My name is Ariz the Green Dragon of the Isolated Lake.”
A creature close by gave a heart-piercing cry. Ariz looked up and realised that the Black Walverines were still on his trail. “We must move Hemrat!”

Ariz lifted into the skies, Hemrat ran on the floor. The cries of the Walverines were getting closer. Hemrat felt a shadow creeping over him; he glanced up and saw the Narus, a dark dragon.

Narus were much bigger and stronger than dragons, they were black and cold hearted. However dragons were more agile and wiser.

The Narus was huge it blackened the ground. It was so dark that for a moment Hemrat couldn’t even see his own brown hands. Ariz was not worried, he knew the Narus, he had spent his childhood running from them; they could hardly even add one plus one. Ariz twirled around and dived under the Narus, “Hemrat, seize onto my tail!’ he roared to the human who was standing there flabbergasted at the scene he witnessed before him. Hemrat hesitated and clutched onto the dragons tail with his right hand and hoisted himself up upon the dragon’s back. The Narus turned around and swooped down at the dragon, Ariz rose on his hind legs and elevated to his wings. When the Narus crashed into the ground, Ariz smashed into the Narus’s back killing the rider and seriously injured the Narus, which would never fly again. Another roar from inside the forest was heard. The second Narus was approaching. Ariz looked at Hemrat with his green eyes blazing, “Hold on tight creature, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.” With that the Narus and Ariz both mounted high into the blue for one more battle.

The two superior beasts circled the skies; casting a large shadow on the floor. Ariz stared into the Narus’s red eyes, the evil beast’s cold voice rang out, “we have met before, haven’t we? Ariz.” The last part he said it with a sinister smile on his face. Memories came back into Ariz’s of his Dragon Land, the land surrounded by dark territory. The land where Ariz was reared, Ariz also remembered Greday. Greday was a Narus the dragon’s age, they were the worst of enemies, and it was all Greday’s doings for Ariz to be banished across the skies into the forest.

Ariz looked across at his opponent. “Greday, you will pay!” The green beast jerked down in for a dive Hemrat was caught unaware and slipped of the dragon’s back... “No!” Hemrat gave a shrill scream as he fell forward into the dark and desolate earth below him. Ariz looked back at his falling companion and lunged down low to fall him from hitting the Earth’s surface; the Narus took advantage of this distraction and drove in straight at the green beast. Hemrat was plummeting to the ground but was fortunately saved by Ariz. The beast behind Ariz rammed into him sending Ariz on another spin. Hemrat refused to let go this time.

“WHAT!” steam rose from Hemrat’s nostrils, this was not possible, how could they do this to him, his own tribe and his own family. It was outrageous. The old chief stared hard at the boy, “Hemrat it was an agonising decision, but you must leave. With or without the dragon it doesn’t matter. Both of you aren’t welcome here anymore.” Hemrat looked around at the multitude of people around him. He looked at his best friend Nurraj, his head was bent down avoiding eye contact with Hemrat. “So boy, be gone!” Hemrat left the village with a heavy heart, it wasn’t his fault Ariz was being chased by the Narus, and it wasn’t even Ariz’s fault he was being chased either. Hemrat sighted Ariz gazing intently into the lake where the Walverine had been drowned. When Ariz noticed Hemrat standing quietly next to him he praised him with many accolades about his courage and bravery when they were against the Narus. Hemrat did the same to his dragon companion. The Green Dragon Ariz was however filled with questions about what type of creature Hemrat was and what he ate and how he slept, so on.
